The Sharehood is all about sharing resources within your neighbourhood and helps you to meet and make friends with people in your local area. All sorts of things can be shared, such as sewing machines, vegetables, wheelbarrows, tools, cars, books and computers. Skills can be shared too: gardening help, bike fixing, accountancy, language skills, childminding, how to make wine or dance the tango. The Sharehood holds regular talks at different locations.

A while back now, we had a greywater working bee at our place. We had quite a few neighbours and friends come to help us out, yet the day still managed to last almost ten hours. There was so much to do.
So far, our group in Carlton has run a handful of social BBQs to help everyone meet their neighbours. Since we started, there's been oodles of dog-sitting, mail collecting, vacuum borrowing, DVD loaning and more. And of course, countless pleasant waves across the street.
