Donating to the Sharehood
The Sharehood is still in its infancy, but is growing rapidly. Behind the scenes, the Sharehood Collective is developing and improving the website (its content and functionality), communicating with Sharehood members, and promoting the Sharehood concept by trying to spread the word to as many people as we can. We run on a shoestring, but we do have expenses. So far, we have relied on generous donations from some members of the Sharehood collective and small grants from local councils. However, to enable us to be financially sustainable, we welcome all donations.
What does the Sharehood use donations for?
We pay one person for one day a week, generously supported by a member of the Sharehood collective. We desperately need to hire someone for at least three days a week to be able to keep up with the growth of the Sharehood. We volunteers haven't enough time between us to make the Sharehood as amazing as it could be.
Insurance premiums are another regular expense. We are soon to purchase insurance cover for our volunteers and are considering public liability insurance for events. Insurance is fairly expensive and will cost us upwards of $1000 each year.
Most of our costs are ad hoc expenses. Recently we purchased a banner for outdoor events such as Melbourne’s Sustainable Living Festival, which cost us $250. We have also paid a graphic designer to redesign the website.
We're not looking to pressure people, so please don't donate to the Sharehood unless you want to (and donations of time are great too). But if you would like to contribute financially, please feel free...
If you would like to donate to The Sharehood, or could set up a regular transfer of any amount, please get in touch, pay by credit card with GiveNow, or deposit into our account The Sharehood Inc., at the Credit Union Australia (CUA), BSB 804050, Account number 30968224.
