Greywater Working Bee
A while back now, we had a greywater working bee at our place. We had quite a few neighbours and friends come to help us out, yet the day still managed to last almost ten hours. There was so much to do.
We dug six big holes, drilled small water filtering holes in buckets and cut big pipe holes in the buckets, laid plastic piping, connected it all to the outpipes from the shower, bathroom sink and the washing machine, picked up about ten shopping cart loads of woodchips from the railway yard around the corner to fill the holes, and woohoo, a working greywater system that waters our garden whenever we use water!
It was a joyous occasion, with everybody very excited to learn how simple the process was, and to be part of it. Everybody still asks us how the greywater system is going, and its going great.
