Volunteer with the Sharehood
The Sharehood is community-based and open to everyone. We are essentially a volunteer organisation, with a huge number of opportunities for getting involved. We have big plans, and if we want to get to them all, we need your help.
These are some of the things that we'd love your help and input on:
- Programming (heaps to do)
- Writing resources for the website
- Community development advice and ideas
- Brainstorming ideas
- Promoting us
- Translating our website
- Documenting/researching what is actually happening in Sharehood communities
- Writing grant applications
- Organising fundraising events
- Social enterprise development (let us know if you come up with any ideas)
These are just a few examples of how you might be able to help. If you have specific skills and ideas to contribute, talk to us.
If you are based in Melbourne, Australia, you can work with us from our new office (or from home if you prefer). We'll be able to help you out with things to do, advice on projects, and resources. Its also great just having face to face interaction with each other, and the motivation of seeing others working helps get us going. We also have fortnightly meetings that we'd love you to come along to.
If you are based overseas or out of Melbourne, there are still plenty of opportunities to get involved. In particular, promoting the Sharehood wherever you are, is an important way to spread the concept. Additionally, pretty much everything that we do from our office in Melbourne can be done from anywhere in the world. We can always talk on skype, and have mailing lists for our working groups, which are not Melbourne specific. Eventually if we had regional groups working on the Sharehood from all over the world, that would be ideal.
